Seventeenth Annual Capitol Square Basketball Classic
Purpose:
The Capitol Square Classic exists as an annual bi-partisan competition between the Senate of Virginia, the Virginia House of Delegates and lobbyists, and the Governor’s Office with the purpose of raising funds for VCU Massey Comprehensive Cancer Center.
Concept:
Now in its seventeenth year, the Capitol Square Basketball Classic is an annual competition while the Virginia General Assembly is in session. The teams hit the court at the Siegel Center, joined by Rodney the Ram, the VCU Peppas, VCU Cheerleaders, and House and Senate pages who cheer them on and offer plenty of entertainment.
Why does this matter?
Your support of Massey's life-saving work matters now more than ever. As a safety net hospital that treats all patients, regardless of their ability to pay and insurance status, Massey is proud to serve the Commonwealth as Virginia's cancer resource. Massey Comprehensive Cancer Center seeks to create healthier communities and ultimately save more lives.
