Everyone knows someone who has had cancer. Some are no longer with us, some are battling today, and some are in thankful remission. Although one in five cancers are preventable with an active, healthy lifestyle, there is still work to do on the research front. VCU Massey Cancer Center is working to save lives right here in Virginia, and I'm supporting their cause - our cause.
I'm participating in the Ukrop's Monument Avenue 10k to raise funds and awareness for Massey. My 10k has special meaning as a way to honor those I love still battling cancer - or have battled cancer.
